Overview

ASIC has released its administrative enforcement results for the 2025-26 financial year, covering the period 1 July 2025 to 30 June 2026. The regulator recorded 150 administrative enforcement outcomes against participants in the financial, credit and corporate sectors.

Financial services removals

ASIC removed or restricted 87 individuals and businesses from providing financial services during the period. Financial services removals reached a five-year high. Of these outcomes, 61% resulted in permanent bans or licence cancellations.

Credit services removals

27 individuals and businesses were removed or restricted from providing credit services. Of these outcomes, 89% resulted in permanent bans or cancellations.

Director disqualifications

36 individuals were disqualified from managing corporations. Director disqualifications rose sharply compared to 2024-25. ASIC applied the maximum five-year disqualification period in 18 of the 36 cases.

Any person who continues managing a company while disqualified faces up to five years in prison.

How ASIC uses these tools

ASIC states that banning orders, licence cancellations and director disqualifications are used to move faster than court action and are designed to stop misconduct at its source. ASIC Chair Sarah Court stated the regulator will continue acting against those who misuse positions of trust.
