What has been registered
The federal government registered the Water Amendment (Murray-Darling Basin Agreement - River Murray Increased Flows and Other Measures) Regulations 2026 on 4 September 2026. The regulations are currently in force.
What the regulations amend
The regulations amend rules under the Water Act 2007 across three schedules:
- Schedule 1 - covers River Murray increased flows
- Schedule 2 - covers South Australia's storage rights
