What this policy is
The Queensland Building and Construction Commission (QBCC) published a new internal policy in November 2025 covering conflict of interest and insider trading obligations. The policy applies to QBCC officers, board members, contractors, and consultants who work for or with the QBCC.
What the policy requires
The policy requires covered individuals to identify and declare any personal interest that could influence their official duties. It strictly prohibits those individuals from trading in listed company securities using confidential information gained through their QBCC role.
Scope of this policy
This is an internal governance document for QBCC staff. It does not create new obligations for licensed builders, tradies, or other businesses regulated by the QBCC.
