QBCC Prosecutions Result in 37 Convictions

The QBCC has released figures showing it prosecuted 52 matters in Queensland magistrates courts during the 2025-26 financial year, resulting in convictions against 37 individuals and companies.

Fines and Compensation

Total fines exceeded $380,000 and compensation orders topped $157,000. In one case, an offender was ordered to pay $70,000 to affected home owners.

Licence Checks

The QBCC also checked licences of 1,412 individuals at 545 building sites during the year, finding 17 people doing unlicensed work.
