What Has Changed
The QBCC has published an updated form (version 01-581 LA PDEX v01 1126) that applicants and their supervising licensees must use to prove practical work experience when applying for a plumbing and drainage licence in Queensland. This is a form update, not a change to licensing rules, and there is no stated deadline to act by.
Experience Requirements
The form requires 12 months of licensed experience. Apprenticeship time does not count toward this requirement. The applicant must detail water plumbing, sanitary plumbing and drainage work performed during this period.
Referee Report Requirements
The supervising licensee must complete a referee report as part of the form. Referees must hold a licence or qualification at the same level or higher than the licence being applied for. Referees must verify the work personally and provide photo ID.
Key Actions
- If applying for a plumbing and drainage licence, download the form and either fill it in on-screen with an e-signature or print and complete in black pen with block letters
- Arrange for the supervising licensee (referee) to complete the referee report, including proof of photo ID
- Submit the completed form by email to licence.applications@qbcc.qld.gov.au, in person at a QBCC Customer Service Centre, or by post to GPO Box 5099, BRISBANE QLD 4001
- If more than one supervisor oversaw the 12 months' experience, submit a separate experience record for each one
- Download extra referee report copies if needed from qbcc.build/experience-pd
