What has changed
The Queensland Building and Construction Commission (QBCC) launched a refreshed customer portal on 12 June 2026. The previous myQBCC portal has been replaced by the new QBCC Portal, which features a cleaner design and improved navigation.
All licensing requirements, regulatory processes, existing services, and customer accounts remain unchanged. The portal interface is the only thing that is new.
Logging in
Users log in to the new QBCC Portal at qbcc.qld.gov.au using their existing username and password. No new account is required.
Owner-builder permit - fully digital applications
The first fully digital application process also launched on 12 June 2026, covering Owner-builder permits. Applicants are able to apply online through the QBCC Portal and track their application progress. The QBCC states that more complex licensing applications will move online in future phases of the program.
